Space Attack Update

by Architect on August 10, 2010

Dear Illuminated Ones,

The recording of Space Attack is well under way now, and should be on schedule for a release beginning this fall. It’s taken some time to decipher the thumb drive we received from the future. Here’s a shot of Noah working in the studio:

Space Attack is a 3-act rock opera that combines musical elements influenced by the likes of of Sondheim, Nine Inch Nails, Peter Gabriel and Holst, and follows the tragic story of Calvin Carlyle, a man whose testimony seems to have been captured by Arcturian Beings shortly after the end of the world, and sent back in time, mysteriously, to Team Illuminati…….

I can’t reveal much more at this time, except to say that I’ve been documenting the entire process of the creation of Space Attack, from the discovery of the thumb drive, to the deciphering of the Arcturian musical language, the initial re-writing and decoding process, rehearsals, and now the recording process. It has been a mysterious and, at times, difficult endeavor.

This is the most ambitious piece of music I have ever composed, though it’s a stretch to say I “composed” it because so much of it involves translating musical symbols from an alien culture, and deciphering voice recordings of Calvin telling his story. Instead of just passing it along, Calvin asked us to turn it into an album. This was partially selfish on his part, as Team Illuminati is Calvin Carlyle’s favorite band, and partly to protect his true identity, as he has not been born yet in our time. We also have no way to verify 100% the accuracy of his claims, but feel that it would be dangerous to simply ignore them.

Team Illuminati bass player Jessie F was very involved in the re-writing process as well, and the band has lent an incredible amount of assistance to the deciphering of this musical information. Hopefully, this warning from the future will be heard, but before it can be heard, there is much work left to be done.

More to come,
